THRAXIS SNOWBOARD BOOTS

When it comes to technical features, supreme fit, and ultimate response, the Thraxis is a clear leader in the freeride category. It’s the stiffest flexing and most supportive model in our collection, this snowboard boot services even the most demanding of riders.  

The Thraxis' zonal BOA® Fit System features three BOA® dials, two targeting zonal exterior lacing, and one controlled K2's Conda™ liner fit system. By placing a soft, urethane "chip" around the 45° degree of the ankle, we've allowed riders to micro-adjust their boot fit and eliminate heel lift. Wrapping the foot, we've placed our most supportive liner, composed of multiple densities of heat-moldable Intuition™ foam. This open-cell foam means that it can be re-molded time and time again to achieve the perfect fit throughout the boot's life. The liner is outfitted with our breathable and heat reflecting Spaceheater™ material, keeping riders warm and dry all day long. And lastly, we've integrated a 95% post-consumer recycled coffee mesh from SCafe™ into the liner to help eliminate unwanted odor after a long day on the hill. Underfoot, the midsole combines a lightweight and stable EVA and our Eco-Harshmellow™, a proprietary technology that helps absorb impact, increase damping, and provides a “quieter” feel while snowboarding. 

The outsole on the Thraxis snowboard boot is our Vibram® V5 outsole, providing unmatched traction in the boot pack and is made using at least 30% recycled rubber through the Vibram® Ecostep program. 

Lacing

H5 Coiler Zonal BOA® Fit System

Impact resistant, durable, and performance-driven, the H5 BOA® Dial ejects on severe impact and is easily re-inserted into the boot. One dial controls the upper shell lacing, and the other maintains the lower shell lacing.

TX3 BOA® Rope Lacing

A softer lace explicitly made for snowboard boots that provides a more even fit over the body of the boot shell versus a steel lace.

Liner

S’Cafe™ Coffee Mesh

A post-consumer recycled coffee ground mesh liner layer that controls odor and absorbs moisture.

Internal & External J-Bars

Adding J-Bars to a liner helps add structure and reduce heel lift.

Insole

Eco-Harshmellow™ Pro Insole

Three separate compositions, Pro, Plus, and Base, now all incorporate K2’s proprietary Harshmellow™ damping into the layup of the footbed. The result is superior vibration absorbing and comfort for all-day excursions into the backcountry or hiking and riding around the resort.

Vibram® V5 Outsole with Eco-Harshmellow™

Our premium rubber compound provides industry-leading durability and grip and is integrated with Harshmellow™ foam to absorb chatter and vibration.

Flex Zone Upper Cuff

The flex zone upper is designed to help retain a consistent flex pattern while reducing shell distortion when flexing.

Endo™ 2.0 Construction

A K2 Snowboarding exclusive, Endo™ Construction, allows us to alter a snowboard boot's flex, response, and rebound without adding extra materials (extra materials = excess weight). By replacing additional materials with an injected heel counter, adding an extra rebound is as easy as a formula change. In addition, it helps us to provide a more consistent flexing, longer-lasting snowboard boot.
